Jan 28th-31st

Mover brings carts and equipment on campus to prepare for move.
OPC takes storage wall down so books can be moved to Broome

Jan 31st

Movers start loading A and B-BD’s on carts from Storage
Movers start loading BF’s from Library
Movers load all the smaller collections (children’s, DVD’s, CD’s, Talking books, Best Sellers, Reference)

Library staff works with moving crews in both new and current library to ensure proper placement of collections and furniture.

February 1 Broome Library Turned Over to the University

Feb 1st-March 2nd Move and Setting Up The Broome Library

Move starts at 8:00 a.m. Sequence below:

Moving Priority
Books & Collections (Library staff works Saturday 2/1)
Offices (IT completes connectivity prior to office moves)
Archives shelves/collections
Dismantle current library shelves and install in staff areas and basement
Move furniture from current library to staff areas in Broome.
Circulation and Reserves stay in current building until new library opens.
Add end panel signs to all collections

Furniture Vendor
2-4 weeks to install all furniture, 2/1-2/28 (we have a lot of modular units that need to be installed for group study along with the special designed reading room tables)

Computer lab and computer classrooms will be installed first

Setting up Computers
Computers can’t be set up until the furniture in the lab and classroomsare complete so this will start between 2/4-2/8.
IT starts setting up computer once the furniture is in place

Feb 25th-29th

Architectural Tours for the entire CSUCI staff

March 2

First Night Celebration for Students, 5 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Last day current library is available for student use.

March 3

John Spoor Broome Library Opens

March 3-4

Move current library furniture to staff areas in Broome.
Move current library shelves to Broome basement

April 4
