  2. Forgot my password
    On the Blackboard login page click on the Forgot password link under the Password box. Enter your First Name, Last Name and Username or Email and and Email with instructions to change the password will be sent to you.
  3. How can I maintain multiple sections of my course?
    A developed course can be copied into second course with the Course Copy tool within the Control Panel. Individual idem's maybe copied with the copy button next to them. Also a course can be copied with students to combine the list of enrolled students into one course, if this is done only the one course with the combined list should be made available so students do not see the course twice.
  4. When I try to " Enroll User", Blackboard can't find the username I searched for (user name was not listed)
    If the user is not already enrolled into your course (CONTROL PANEL > LIST / MODIFY USERS, click on the Search button) then the user needs to be added to the PeopleSoft system, this can not be done in blackboard.
  5. I am teaching a course, but do not see the course listed in the My Course. Where is the course link?
    If the instructor of record for the course is listed as "STAFF," then the course does not have an instructor assigned to it and you will not have access to it. When the instructor is assigned in PeopleSoft they will be associated with the course in black board, it may take up to 24 hours from when PeopleSoft data is entered to when blackboard shows the instructor updates.
  6. My students say they can't see my course
    Your course is not available. All courses / each quarter are unavailable by default. (CONTROL PANEL > SETTINGS > COURSE AVAILABILITY / click on Make Course Available: yes , then click submit)
  7. Blackboard's performance is slow, what can I do?
    In Internet Explorer 6 (PC)
    1. Click on the Tools menu.
    2. Click on Internet Options.
    3. Within the General Tab...
    * Click on the Delete Cookie button.
    * Click on the Delete Files button.
    In Firefox (PC / Mac)
    1. Click on the Firefox menu.
    2. Click on Preferences.
    3. Within the Privacy Tab...
    * Click on the Clear Cookie button.
    * Click on the Clear Cache button.

  8. Where is my e-mail going?
    Blackboard can be set to uses any email address. To change your email click on the My Blackboard tab then click on Personal Information, now click on Edit Personal Information, enter or update your email address and click Submit.
  9. I am having problems attaching files.
    When placing files into Blackboard as a Discussion Board attachment, Email attachment, Course Materials attachment, Assignment attachment or as an attachment in the Digital Dropbox, it is important to name the files properly before attaching them. Do not use a space , dash-, ampersand&, pound#, slash/ or dot. in the name.
  10. One of my students is having a blackboard problem.

  11. I cannot print a page in Blackboard.

    Depending on the browser (Netscape, IE, or Firefox) computer (Mac or PC), and mouse you can print a frame by:

    • Right click in the frame and choose: This Frame > Open this frame in new window.
    • Option/ Alt, Left Click : This Frame > Open this frame in new window.
    • Right click in the frame and choose: Open frame in new window.
    • Control, Left Click: Open frame in new window.
    • Right click in the frame and choose: Print.
  12. I cannot access (download or view) a file in Blackboard.

    If you are unable to open a file (link) by clicking on it Depending on the browser (Netscape, IE, or Firefox) computer (Mac or PC), and mouse you can download it by:

    • Right click on the link: Download to Disk.
    • Right click on the link: Save Link Target As.
    • Right click on the link: Save Link As.
    • Option/ Alt, Left Click : Save Link As.
    • Control, Left Click: Download Link to Disk.
    • Control, Left Click: Save Link As.
  13. Why are dropped students still in my class?
    PeopleSoft only adds students to Blackboard if a student dropped a course you will have to remove him/her manually. ( CONTROL PANEL > REMOVE USERS FROM COURSE / place a check next to the students to remove and type Yes at the page bottom then click Submit )
