Updated Ebrary instructions for JAWS 7/26/2006

If you are using Ebrary from your CSU office or Home computer be sure to download the Ebrary software when prompted. If you do not have administrative rights to your computer at CSUCI, then contact the IT helpdesk to have it installed for you.

  • Use IE6, Mozilla 1.7x, or Netscape 7.x only.
  • Have the user work with the table of contents in order to initially navigate throughout the document.
  • Only use Notepad or WordPad during the copy process versus Microsoft Word (which adds adds formatting) 

InfoTools Keyboard Shortcuts

  • The Right Arrow key scrolls to the right until the end of the page is reached.  When you are at the bottom of a page, the Right Arrow key takes you to the beginning of the next page.  (This behavior mimics that of MS Word)
  • The Left Arrow key is similar to the Right Arrow key, but will scroll to the left until the beginning of the page is reached.  When you are at the beginning of the page, the Left Arrow key will take you to the end of the previous page.
  • The Down Arrow key moves the cursor ahead to the next line.  If you are at the bottom of the page, it will jump to the next page
  • The Up Arrow key is similar to the Down Arrow key, but moves the cursor back to the previous line, and if at the top of a page, will jump to the previous page.
  • Using the Shift and any of the arrow keys will disable the ability to scroll to next or previous pages
  • Using Control and the Up Arrow keys will automatically take you to the previous page
  • Using Control and the Down Arrow keys will automatically take you to the next page
           
  • Using Control and the Open Bracket keys will take you to a Previous Highlight
  • Using Control and the Close Bracket keys will take you to a Next Highlight
  • The Page Up Key will take you to a Previous Page
  • The Page Down Key will take you to the Next Page
  • The Home Key will take you to the beginning of the page
  • The End key will take youl to the end of the page.
  • Ctrl-C  Copies selected text if text is selected
  • Ctrl-G   Go to a specific Page
  • Ctrl-N   Go to a Specific Page
  • Ctrl-R   Search Document
  • Ctrl-P    Print Current Page
  • Ctrl-Shift-A   Selects or Deselects entire page (Toggle)
