Libelous statements and invasion of privacy

Libelous statements and the invasion of privacy are actionable under law. The researcher, by signing the registration card, agrees to hold harmless the University and its governing body and associates and the Library and its staff against all suits, claims, actions, and expenses arising out of his/her unlawful actions regarding any and all information obtained from the archives. Those topics designated by an asterisk (*) are deemed confidential, containing sensitive material protected by law, and will not be produced unless and until express consent is given by the subject individual.
